Reading: This week we will be reading a biography passage entitled Now is Your Time! We will be focusing on sequencing, main idea, and supporting details. The students will have a comprehension assessment on Friday over the text Now is Your Time!
We will have a spelling test this week on Thursday.
You will see spelling homework on Monday and Tuesday night. A vocabulary test will be on Friday to show our knowledge of the meaning of the words. We will practice daily through classroom activities.
Language: We will be focusing on adjectives.
Math: We will be learning how to:
· Monday – 12-5 – Area of Parallelogram
· Tuesday – 12-6 – Area of Triangles
· Wednesday – 13-1 – Solids
· Thursday – 13-3 – Surface Area
· Friday – 13-3 – Surface Area
Daily homework will be sent home for practice. The opposite side of the homework should assist in solving the problems.
Social Studies: We will begin exploring chapter 6, life during the “Roaring Twenties.”
Science: We will begin exploring varieties of physical properties.
The students came home with their Academic Fair topic and instructions last Monday. They have 2 more weeks to complete their project. All of the projects focus on science standards. Our science book will be a great resource. The projects need to be turned in on Monday, March 17th.
Our next and last 4-H project is making a recycled craft. This project will not be a requirement because of the timing of the Academic Fair projects. The students are more than welcomed to participate. The due date will be on Friday, March 14th.
